NFL Rumors: Buc’s Letting LB Barrett Ruud Leave?

Stephen Holder of the St. Petersburg Times writes the Tampa Bay Buccaneers intend to use newly drafted LB Mason Foster at the same position that Barrett Ruud has played for the last five seasons. Holder notes that the team has yet to make and final decisions in regards to Ruud but there was prior speculation that his time in Tampa was coming to an end and drafting Foster doesn’t help his chances.

Ruud’s production has dipped in recent years which has brought about a number of questions regarding his current and future ability. He’s set to become a free agent and we have him listed as the #48 best available free agent in the list years free agent class.

Holder also mentions that the Buc’s would most likely have taken Prince Amukamara at #20 if the Giants had passed on him rather than drafting Adrian Clayborn.
