The Philadelphia Eagles’ selection of Alex Henery with the No. 120 overall pick isn’t a good sign that David Akers will be returning for the coming season and he apparently agrees.
“Right now, I don’t think I’m going to be back,” Akers said, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “It’s pretty much that when you see a kicker drafted high. The writing’s on the wall.”
McLane writes that any one of the other NFC East teams could have interest in him. Akers was 32-for-38 in 2010 and thats something that should get the attention of the Cowboys, Redskins and Giants considering the the up’s and down’s that they dealt with recently.
