NFL Rumors: Delhomme Done In Cleveland?

Unfortunately for Cleveland Browns fans Jake Delhomme returned to his underwhelming form last Sunday in which he managed only 86 passing yards along with two turnovers against a poor Buffalo Bills defense.

As of now it appears that Colt McCoy is the teams best option at quarterback and since he almost ready to return from a high ankle sprain that cost him the last three games, Delhomme is likely to be manning the clipboard for Sunday’s game.

Head coach Eric Mangini has yet to say that McCoy will be the teams starter if healthy but he did imply that it remains an option.

“If Colt couldn’t play, then I’d go with Delhomme,” said Mangini Monday via theCleveland Plain-Dealer.

Delhomme is owed $5.4 million for next season so it’s unlikely that the Browns will keep him on their roster for next season given his poor performance and the rise of Colt McCoy. It seems likely that Delhomme will be cut at the end of the season.
