NFL Rumors: DeSean Jackson, Bills, Broncos, Jets, Titans

DeSean Jackson

  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reports that free agent WR DeSean Jackson is expected to land a big-money contract at the start of free agency on Thursday.
  • According to Florio, Jackson has interest from multiple teams including the Redskins and Buccaneers.
  • Florio adds that the level of interest in Jackson is “sufficiently strong” enough for a bidding war to break out on Tuesday.
  • We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.

Bills

  • Sal Capaccio is told that the Bills’ recent meeting with free agent LB Lorenzo Alexander‘s reps went well this past weekend and the two sides will continue to talk. However, Capaccio adds that nothing is imminent right now.
  • According to Capaccio, the Bills would like to get a long-term deal done with restricted free agent RB Mike Gillislee to spread out his cap hit.

Broncos

  • Cameron Wolfe expects the Broncos to add at least one starting caliber offensive lineman and one defensive lineman this offseason.
  • After that, Denver is likely to wait to see what happens with Cowboys QB Tony Romo.
  • Wolfe mentions that free agent DT Sylvester Williams and CB Kayvon Webster are likely to sign elsewhere unless their market isn’t as fruitful as they expect.

Jets

Titans

  • According to Paul Kuharsky of ESPN, the Titans will allow former first-round picks WR Kendall Wright and G Chance Warmack to move on in free agency.
  • Kuharsky mentions that while there are some Titans’ free agents who could generate interest, whoever they bring in this year should be better than what they’ll lose this offseason.
  • Kuharsky adds that indications are that the Titans want to keep veteran TE Anthony Fasano and some level of conversations are going on.
