NFL Rumors: Dolphins Considering Carson Palmer in Miami?

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the Miami Dolphins appear to be open to idea of trading for Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer.

While Salguero wasn’t able to get any direct comments from the Dolphins that would suggest that this is something their considering, he mentions that their interest in the idea is enough to suggest that it’s a possible option.

The Bengals could actually be changing their minds on Palmer, more specifically owner Mike Brown. The Bengals owner has refused to trade Palmer in the last few months but that could have been a move to throw some of the other teams off about their draft strategy.

As for the Dolphins, they appear to ok with heading into the 2011 season with Chad Henne as their quarterback but if given the opportunity to upgrade the position, I would expect that they would strongly consider the idea. The loss of Chad Pennington as their backup should at least force them to consider backup quarterback options. Adding Palmer would allow them to continue to develop Henne while moving forward with a proven player under center.
