NFL Rumors: Dolphins Have No Shot At Re-signing DT Soliai?

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald writes that a league source mentioned that Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Paul Soliai is not likely be re-signed before March 4th because he intends to maximize his earning by hitting the open market. Bad news for Miami.

Soliai, who came on in the second half of the season, is a stout 350 pounds and happens to play one of the most sought after position in the NFL. With the success of 3-4 defensives like the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, there will be a number of teams that will be employing similar schemes come next year. After the NFL is a copycat leauge.

Basically, the Dolphins will have to be willing to over pay Soliai if they intent on keeping him which is a tough situation for the Dolphins considering that they have even more pressing issues like quarterback.
