NFL Rumors: Donovan McNabb To The Vikings?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that a source close to Donovan McNabb has told him that McNabb plans on asking the Redskins to release him at the end of the season. Mike Shanahan and the rest of the teams coaching staff have already made it clear that they plan to go in a different direction next season so it’s more of a question of when rather than if McNabb becomes a free agent.

We’ve already suggested that the Cardinals, Browns, Seahawks and Vikings could all be options for Donovan but Schefter see’s the Vikings as the logical choice.

“McNabb makes sense to me there. Minnesota could use McNabb as much as he could use the Vikings. They’ll have the salary slot for him, with Brett Favre’s contract expiring, and that would be a nice short-term solution.”

With Brad Childress gone in Minnesota, McNabb would most likely wait until the coaching staff is in place before he signs up.
