NFL Rumors: Draft, Dolphins, Eagles, Jaguars, & Packers

Draft

  • Clemson DE Shaq Lawson said he met with the Jets, Titans and Saints yesterday and was scheduled to meet with Browns next. (Dane Hope)
  • Tony Pauline of WalterFootball reports that Mississippi State WR Da’Runnya Wilson met with the 49ers on Thursday.
  • Mississippi State LB Beniquez Brown met with the 49ers on Wednesday and spoke with the Dolphins on Thursday.
  • Sources have told Pauline that Mississippi State DT Chris Jones is “looking like a first-rounder” after his workout.
  • However, MSU QB Dak Prescott reportedly had an up-and-down day.

Dolphins

  • James Walker of ESPN writes that the Dolphins’ options at running back are looking pretty thin.
  • Miami is meeting with RFA C.J. Anderson today and is expected to sign him to an offer sheet. However, the Broncos could still match their offer.
  • Walker considers Alfred Morris and Ronnie Hillman to be among their best available free agent options.
  • Altough, Walker seems to think the Dolphins best option would be to draft a running back such as Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott or Alabama’s Derrick Henry.

Eagles

  • Eagles HC Doug Pederson announced Thursday that QB Sam Bradford is their No. 1 quarterback with Chase Daniel operating as their backup. (Albert Breer)
  • Pederson added there will be competition at every position, adding: “The QB position is not exempt from that.” (Albert Breer)
  • Interestingly enough, Pederson said he wasn’t going to prevent RB DeMarco Murray from moving on: “I wasn’t going to stand in Murray’s way of stopping him to go elsewhere and play.” (Eliot Shorr-Parks)

Jaguars

  • Malik Jackson tells Alex Marvez that the Jaguars showed more interest in him “than any other team” in free agency.
