Free Agency

  • Sources tell Jason La Canfora that the Lions and Jaguars could be among the big spenders this year with Jacksonville seemingly intent on upgrading their offensive line.
  • Bengals free agent G Kevin Zeitler is considered to be the top target at his position and could command as much as $12 million per year.
  • La Canfora confirms reports that the Bears many expect the Bears to target QB Mike Glennon and adds that they’re also expected to go hard after cornerbacks such as Stephon Gilmore.

49ers & Browns

  • After speaking with agents at the Combine about which teams could be the biggest spenders this year, Jason La Canfora universally heard the Browns and 49ers. These are two teams with the most cap space and roster needs all over the place, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise, but more of a confirmation of what you can expect to see this week.
  • La Canfora mentions that both the Browns and 49ers are “actively” exploring quarterback, linebacker, pass-rush and cornerback options. The expectation right now is that these teams will set the market in regards to a number of positions.
  • As for potential targets, La Canfora says that the Browns would “love” to sign S Tony Jefferson among other players while there continues to be “persistent buzz” about the 49ers and free agent WR Alshon Jeffery.


  • Jason La Canfora reports that the Cardinals DL Calais Campbell and Redskins WR DeSean Jackson are two of the players the Buccaneers are interested in.


  • According to Jason La Canfora, the Jets are looking for “best-of-breed” players this offseason but are unlikely to go after lesser players just to get guys.
  • La Canfora mentions S Tony Jefferson, RB/KR Bennie Cunningham and FB Kyle Juszczyk as names to watch for the Jets.


  • The Ravens appear to be in a tough position this offseason as Jason La Canfora believes they could lose FB Kyle Juszczyk, DT Brandon Williams and RT Ricky Wagner.
  • However, La Canfora wonders if Baltimore could be a landing spot for S Tony Jefferson.
