ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned that Matt Hasselbeck “is not expected to return” to the Seattle Seahawks during an appearance on NFL Live. This report backs up what John Clayton had been saying for a few weeks now.
The Seahawks have also been rumored to be players for Kevin Kolb but they should have some serious competition from the Arizona Cardinals so this could be shaping up as a bidding war. Whoever lands Kolbs, will have to be willing to sign him to a longterm deal considering that he’ll be a free agent at the end of 2011 and Kolb’s agent is reported to be eying Matt Schaub‘s six-year $48 million deal as a good starting point.
Desperation leads teams to make costly decisions and the Seahawks will have to add another QB because as of now, Charlie Whitehurst is their guy, for better or for worse.
