Tennessee Titans defensive end Jason Babin could one of the intriguing free agent options during the offseason the team chooses to not use their franchise tag on him. Babin is coming off of his strongest season in the NFL which saw him dramatically increase his sack total from 2.5 to 12.5 this season.
There has already been some speculation that the Philadelphia Eagles are one possible option for him because of the teams decision to bring in Jim Washburn to coach their defensive line.
Ira Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune writes that the Tampa Buccaneers are another option for Babin considering their need for an improved pass-rush from their defensive line.
ESPN NFC South blogger Pat Yasinskas mentions that he likes the idea of Babin in Tampa.
“Adding a veteran in free agency might speed up the development of the defense. If there is a labor agreement, Tampa Bay is going to have a lot of salary-cap room.”
