NFL News: Josh McDaniels Signs With The Rams

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that the Rams and Josh McDaniels have reached an agreement. McDaniels will now get to mold Sam Bradford into the next Tom Brady.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is now reporting that Josh McDaniels and the Rams have restarted negotiations which appear to be more optimistic this time.

NFL Networks Jason La Canfora mentions that the Seattle Seahawks could also consider bringing in former Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable as their offensive line coach. La Canfora also adds that former Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell is also an option if they are unable to land Josh McDaniels.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen tweets that the Seattle Seahawks could end up being an option for Josh McDaniels now that they have officially moved on from Jeremy Bates. Michael Lombardi of NFL Network reported earlier that the Bates has been let go.

It appeared that the St Louis Rams would end up signing McDaniels to take over their offense and help develop Sam Bradford into a top tier quarterback but reports from earlier in the day mention that talks between the two parties broke down leaving a potential in question.

Seattle was one of the worst offenses in the league this last season and there is little doubt that McDaniels would be an upgrade for the team. Interestingly enough the Rams could lose McDaniels to a divison rival. It’s bad to lose the guy that you are targeting to run your offense but it’s plenty worse when it’s to a division rival. McDaniels to Seattle is not a certainty considering that their quarterback position has some question marks surrounding it so we’ll have to keep tabs on the story as more news becomes available.
