NFL Rumors: Kevin Kolb’s Trade Value

ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided his take on Kevin Kolb‘s trade value by saying that he doesn’t see the Eagles lowering their earlier asking price from two first-round picks. Because of this, Schefter expects to Kolb to remain an Eagle next season.

Now that  Andy Reid and company have made it official that Kevin Kolb will be the teams starting quarterback this weekend against the Dallas Cowboys, we can get back to speculating as to who he will be playing for come next season.

As ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted in his latest “10 Spot” article earlier this morning, there will be a minimum of six teams that are in the market for a new quarterback come next season. He specifically mentions the 49ers, Seahawks, Cardinals, Vikings, Dolphins and Redskins to go along with Carolina, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Tennessee, Jacksonville and Buffalo who mentions as possibly being in the market.

Earlier in the season we debated Kolbs trade value which seemed to be in the second to third-round pick range but given the lack of quality players who will be on the market in comparison to the number of teams in need of help, Kolb could command as much as first-round pick. ESPN’s Matt Mosely echoes this sentiment by mentioning the Vikings and Cardinals as teams that may be willing to part with a first-round in return for Kolb.

There are other free agent options to go along with draft prospects like Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, Jake Locker and Ryan Mallett but Kolb has enough experience to justify the high asking price.
