The Baltimore Sun reports that the Baltimore Ravens aren’t going to be able to afford to stay in the running for WR Mario Manningham.
Baltimore is apparently unwilling to overspend on a receiver and considering that the big names like Colston and Jackson are off of the board, Manningham is in a great position to get a large deal.
We have Manningham listed as the #30 best available free agent in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Browns safety Mike Adams has been receiving interest from four NFL teams to this point.
If the Browns end up losing Adams in the coming days they’ll have to figure something out as their contingency option. The market for safeties was thin to begin with so it’s going to be difficult to find adequate replacements. The draft figures to be a better option.
Judd Zulgad ESPN 1500 Twin Cities reports that it “sounds like” TE Visanthe Shiancoe will not be brought back next season.
No surprise hear considering that Kyle Rudolph is poised for a breakout season and Shiancoe was listed as the worst tight end in the league by Pro Football Focus.
The Sacramento Bee reports the 49ers have interest in former Cowboys Laurent Robinson.
So far, Robinson has received plenty of interest from NFL teams. The Dolphins, Jaguars, Jets and Cowboys have all shown some amount of interest in signing him. As we mentioned previous, the market for the remaining wide receivers will be pretty serious so I’m sure Robinson will be happy with the deal that he gets.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens are working on a C Matt Birk contract extension.
Birk has received interest from other teams but wants to try to get something done with the Ravens before looking elsewhere. Birk is pretty old but has actually been pretty decent in recent years so he’ll find work if that’s what he wants.
