NFL Rumors: NFL Coordinator News

There have been a number of stories relating to offensive coordinators changing teams and being on the hot seat. Here’s a collection of some of them.

Rob Ryan

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported yesterday that the Dallas Cowboys have made it official, former Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Rob Ryan will become the teams new defensive coordinator.

Ryan has interviewed for a few head coaching positions in the past few weeks and moving to Dallas should give the opportunity to show that he can be effective as his brother Rex. The addition of Ryan suggests that Dallas will continue to use the 3-4 scheme next season.

Mike Singletary

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that Mike Singletary  is expected to become the Minnesota Vikings linebackers coach. Many people have suggested that Singletary wasn’t ready to be a head coach when the San Francisco 49ers promoted him towards the end of last year.

One other note regarding the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff, the Vikings are getting ready to announce their next offensive coordinator and Fred Pagac is considered to be the favorite.

Cam Cameron

Coming off of the Sunday’s disappointing loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, head coach John Harbaugh addressed the future of Cam Cameron today by saying that “Cam Cameron is our offensive coordinator. That’s how we’re going forward.”

The Ravens offense has looked rather underwhelming throughout the majority of the season and seemed to inhibit the teams ability to win games in which their defense didn’t dominate the opposition. Sticking with Cameron could cause some issues with the teams fan base but then again their big name receivers didn’t help them team when they needed them the most on Saturday.

Sean McDermott

The Eagles made the decision to release Sean McDermott over the weekend. Jim Mora Jr and Dick Jauron have already been suggested as possible replacements. Andy Reid mentioned that the pressure of filling Jim Johnson had an impact on his decision to let McDermott go.
