NFL Rumors: Patriots Looking For Brady’s Successor?

ESPN’s James Walker reports that sources have suggested that the New England Patriots could be targeting a successor to Tom Brady in this years draft.

The Patriots will host Washington QB Jake Locker today and tomorrow and it’s not inconceivable that the Patriots could take a chance on drafting a quarterback like Jake Locker considering that they have three picks between No. 17 and No. 33. Adding a top prospect that they can develop while Brady finishes out his career seems like a dream scenario for Patriots fans. As of now, Brady (34) is under contract through 2014 which should give them plenty of time to get a player ready to take over for the reigning MVP.

Bill Belichick is considered to be one of the best coaches and talent evaluators in the league but his biggest test will be making the transition from a Hall of Fame quarterback to whom ever he tabs and the teams quarterback of the future. The rest of the AFC North and the NFL for that matter should be very concerned if Belichick gets a solid quarterback prospect to mold into the next super star.
