NFL Rumors: Rams And Randy Moss?

Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald asked St Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo at the NFL draft combine if thought that there was any chance that they could sign Randy Moss. Spagnuolo’s response was what you’d expect given the question that he was asked but he didn’t shoot down the idea.

“We really haven’t gotten into it that deeply,” Spagnuolo responded. “The coaches right now, it’s more about the scheme and Josh coaching up our offensive staff on what we’re going to do and them sharing ideas. So, I don’t know that we’re that deep into it, we’re going to see where it goes. But certainly, [McDaniels] having first-hand knowledge of the particular player — or any of the players — is going to be helpful. And anybody that’s been in his system becomes a little bit attractive.”

Most teams would be interested in obtaining a motivated Randy Moss because we’ve seen what that can equate to but other than his time in New England, Moss has been uncontrollable over the majority of his career. Even though he is familiar with Josh McDaniels offensive scheme, there is guarantee that he going to be productive for them and could even become a detriment to team.

The Rams will need help at wide receiver and it has already been reported by Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that they could have a deal done with WR Mark Clayton before March 4th so plenty would still have to happen for Moss to join the Rams.
