NFL Rumors: Ravens Want A 4th Round From Chicago For Botched Trade

Last nights draft was probably the most interesting draft in recent memory but one of the more interesting situation occurred during the later half of the first round. The Baltimore Ravens were on the clock but had a trade in place with the Chicago Bears which would’ve allowed the Bears to move up and get Wisconsin’s OT Gabe Carimi but Bears GM Jerry Angelo never called in the trade so the clock ran out and the Ravens were skipped.

In that time the Kansas City Chiefs jumped in and took WR Johnathan Baldwin and the Ravens followed by grabbing CB Jimmy Smith. The Bears ultimately got the player that they were after but the Ravens feel that they’re due the fourth-round pick that they almost lost out on.

If these reports are accurate, the Bears should be forced to give up a fourth-round pick because you can’t agree to trade and just never call it in, especially when the other team is on the clock and waiting for you to complete the deal. Angelo himself has already said that they were at fault so it would make sense for Chicago to surrender a pick to Baltimore. The league will announce their ruling before tonights draft.
