NFL Rumors: Redskins Considering Shaun Rogers?

Just in case you thought the Washington Redskins may have learned a lesson or two from the problems that they’ve experienced after signing a defensive tackle with off-the-field issues, Jay Glazer of FOX is reporting that the Redskins have spoken with recently released DT Shaun Rogers and meeting could be setup for tomorrow.

The Redskins showing interest in Rogers does plenty to suggest that Albert Haynesworth doesn’t figure into their 2011 plans. It’s still up in the air as to what they may end up doing with Haynesworth but they won’t be able to much more than release him until a new CBA is reached.

As for Rogers, he’s likely to shop himself around before agreeing to first offer he receives considering the predicament that he finds himself in.

Jerry Solomon of the Houston Chronicle see’s the Houston Texans as an option and Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel coached Rogers while in Cleveland so they to could be a possibility. Other have added the Cowboys to list of suiters because of Rob Ryan getting the defensive coordinators job but that remains purely speculative at this point.
