NFL Rumors: Ricky Williams Done In Miami?

The general consensus regarding the Miami Dolphins backfield has been that both Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams are more likely to end up playing for new teams than returning to the Dolphins for the 2011 season. Ricky Williams discussed his future with WQAM’s The Sid Rosenberg Show via the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and from Williams comments it’s apparent that the feeling is mutual.

“I think they might want to go in different direction,” Williams said.  “If Dolphins really want me to stay and make a fair offer, it would be hard for me to turn down, but I don’t know if that is going to happen.”

Williams productivity in recent years has been really surprising considering his age and the fact that he’s has three seasons in which he has carried the ball over 300 times in a single season. Teams will have plenty of questions regarding Williams ability but he’s done a really good job of producing when given opportunities in recent years.

“I have things to offer that a rookie can’t offer,” he said.  “I think I bring positivity. I think I bring leadership. I’ve proven I can play at a high level consistently.
