NFL Rumors: Ryan Mallett’s Stock Falling?

SI.com’s Tony Pauline reports that Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett is “taking a big tumble” down NFL teams big boards. Mallett’s is consistently linked to off-the-field problems and many are concerned about his personality which has been reported as being “worrisome” by league sources.

The problem for Mallett is that his draft stock wasn’t all that high to begin with so the possibility that teams are becoming less interested in him could push him back into the second 0r third-round depending on how concerned teams really are.

If you’re able to look past these concerns, Mallett has the best arm in the draft along with good size and there are a number of teams that are in need of a quarterback. I’m sure that teams will not be willing to invest a top-ten pick on him but it would be surprising to see him not get taken in the early to middle portion of the second-round simply because of the supply and demand.
