Shaq Lawson

• Albert Breer reports that Clemson DE Shaq Lawson’s shoulder was flagged at the combine, and he’s on the list to go back to Indianapolis for a medical recheck.

Mackensie Alexander

• Rand Getlin reports that Clemson CB Mackensie Alexander has already met with the Jets, Titans, Saints, Colts, Steelers, Lions and Chargers.

Cardinals

• Cardinals GM Steve Keim said during an appearance on the “Doug and Wolf Show” that he isn’t sure they were really interested in free agent CB Leon Hall and OT Andre Smith to begin with.
• Keim said that they were media driven stories.

Patriots

• Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald writes that a contract extension for Patriots CB Malcolm Butler may not be as close as it appeared.
• Howe mentions that if Butler were to get a new deal from the team it would likely require him to sign a team-friendly deal.
• Sources have told Howe that negotiations haven’t started with any of the Patriots key defensive players including Butler, Dont’a Hightower and Jamie Collins.
• Howe can see the five-year, $42.5 million contract signed by Broncos CB Chris Harris eventually being used as a comparable deal for Butler and the Patriots once negotiations get underway.
