As always, any trade cannot take place without a new CBA but that hasn’t changed teams from checking in on the availability of Vince Young.
Titans G.M. Mike Reinfeldt mentioned that he has been contacted by multiple teams regarding Young.
“We have had some discussions. But nothing is imminent with him. There is some [interest], but it is hard, though,” Reinfeldt told Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.
One thing that teams will have to consider is that Young is set to make $4.25 million bonus upon the tenth day of new season which seems like something that they would not be willing to take on. It’s not surprising that teams are checking in on Young but it’s most likely due diligence rather than general interest in making a trade. If Tennessee is able to trade him, I would have no choice other than to commend them for their superb negotiating ability. My money’s still on him being cut, for whatever that’s worth.
