NFL Signings: Jason Snelling, Scott Chandler, Jake Ballard, Bruce Johnson

Jason Snelling

The Atlanta Falcons re-signed RB Jason Snelling to a three-year contract early this morning.

Snelling has been a bit of an under-rated player for the Falcons offense. He’s great out of the backfield and is a quality third-down running back. The Falcons are expected to get more use out of Jacquizz Rodgers next season but this move will most likely pit the two of the against one another for the lion-share of third-down opportunities.

Scott Chandler

The Buffalo Bills have reached a deal with TE Scott Chandler on a two-year contract, via WGR 550 Buffalo.

Chandler was a great red-zone weapon for the Bills last year and managed to catch six touchdowns for them. He gives them some versatility in limited passing situations and the deal should be relatively cheap so re-signing him does make sense.

Jake Ballard & Bruce Johnson

The New York Giants have re-signed a pair of exclusive rights free agents in CB Bruce Johnson and TE Jake Ballard.

Ballard’s coming off of a decent in which he was the team’s main tight end but he wound up tearing his ACL in the Super Bowl.

Johnson suffered a torn Achilles’ tendon last year so he may have to earn his roster spot during training camp.

Demorrio Williams

The San Diego Chargers have signed former Chiefs LB Demorrio Williams to a one-year contract, via TheSidlineView.com.

Williams, 31, was recent released by the Chiefs but managed to find a new team relatively quickly. He’ll have to compete for a job with Takeo Spikes, Donald Butler and Jonas Mouton next season.

Will Tukuafu

49ers have signed DE Will Tukuafum, who was an  exclusive rights free agent,  to a two-year deal.

Jake Kirkpatrick & Trevor Vittatoe

The Indianapolis Colts re-signed C Jake Kirkpatrick and signed free agent QB Trevor Vittatoe
