NFL Suspends 4 Free Agents Including Jarrett Bush & Loucheiz Purifoy

Update:

Rob Demovsky reports that Jarrett Bush’s four-game suspension is for violating NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances and not related to his offseason arrest.

The NFL has suspended four free agent players including CB Jarrett Bush, CB Loucheiz Purifoy, S Jakar Hamilton, and RB Quentin Hines, according to Howard Balzer of the Sports Exchange.

Bush receives a four-game suspension that is not related to his arrest following an incident outside a Vacaville, Calif., restaurant/bar in early March. He’s also the most notable player among this group from his time with the Packers.

Meanwhile, Hamilton received a 10 -game suspension, which Balzer mentions is likely for violating the substance abuse policy.

Purifoy was a priority rookie free agent signing of the Colts last year. He too received a 10 -game suspension, which is most likely for violating the substance abuse policy.

Hines wound up with the lowest suspension, as he’ll miss just the first week of the 2015 season.

NFL teams can still sign any of these players to contracts, but the fact that they’re still available and have pending suspensions implies that they may not find any interest in the coming months.
