NFL & Tom Brady Still Discussing Settlement, Brady May Seek Injunction

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that settlements talks between the NFL and Tom Brady are continuing on Tuesday.

  • Stephen A. Smith of ESPN reported earlier this morning that the NFL is expected to announce that Brady’s four-game suspension will be upheld.
  • Smith added: “I’m hearing that Tom Brady actually destroyed his cell phone,” per Ben Volin.

According to Schefter, there is an expectation that the case will be resolved in the next 24 to 48 hours.

In the event Brady’s suspension is upheld, Schefter mentions that it’s widely expected that Brady will go to federal court and seek an injunction that will allow him to play while his case works its way through the courts.

While it’s encouraging that the two parties are talking, Schefter adds that it is unlikely a settlement will be reached.

Schefter’s sources mentioned that Brady remains adamant that he will “not accept a suspension and that any punishment must specify that it’s for failing to cooperate with an NFL investigation and not for breaking rules with the footballs.

It looks like this will be heading to court at some point.

We’ll have more regarding Brady and his appeal case as the news is available.
