NFL Transactions: Eric Winston, O.J. Atogwe, Mike Sellers, Chase Daniel,

Here’s a look at some of the days NFL transactions.

 

Texans

Texans OT Eric Winston announced on Twitter that the team has decided to release him.

Winston was set to make $5.5 million for the 2012 season despite being ranked by Pro Football Focus as the #8 best offensive tackle last season. He could very well end up in our Top 50 Free Agents list that will be updated later tonight.

Saints

Adam Caplan of TheSidlineView.com reports that the Saints have re-signed QB Chase Daniel to a one-year, $1 million contract.

Redskins 

Rich Tandler of CSN Washington reports that the Washington Redskins have released FB Mike Sellers.

The 36-year-old fullback played with the Redskins for eleven of his twelve seasons in the NFL. It’s hard to assume that he’ll draw a ton of interest on the open market.

Mike Jones of The Washington Post reports that the Redskins will be releasing S O.J. Atogwe.

This move was reported to be coming weeks ago. Atogwe was set to make $3.4 million salary for 2012 season and releasing will not create any “dead money” for the team so it makes sense in that regard.

What’s interesting is that Atogwe signed with the team a little over a year ago but ultimately wasn’t able to be a difference maker for them.

Browns

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Browns have released OT Tony Pashos after he failed a recent physical.

Vikings

FOXSports.com reports that a league source has informed them that the Vikings have signed QB Sage Rosenfels.

The report mentions that he’s expected to compete for the backup quarterback position with Joe Webb but it would defintaly be surprising to see him outplay Webb.

Chargers

Michael Gehlken reports that the Chargers have tendered exclusive rights free agents WR Richard Goodman and LS Mike Windt.

Chiefs

Josina Anderson reports that the Kansas City Chiefs have reached a deal with DL Amon Gordon on a two-year contract.

Gordon did play in all 16 games for the Chiefs last season so he should provide some extra depth for their defensive line.

Rams

Howard Balzer reports that the Rams have waived WR Nick Miller and LB David Nixon.

Jim Thomas reports that the Rams have released DE James Hall

Brad Biggs reports that the Rams have released CB Ron Bartell.

Jim Thomas reports that the Rams have released DTs Fred Robbins and Justin Bannan.

Aaron Wilson reports that the Rams have released released G/C Jason Brown.

Lions 

Tim Twentymen of the DetroitLions.com reports that team has released TE Will Heller.

The Detroit Free Press reports that OLB DeAndre Levy is expected to sign the tender the team extended him.

This will pay him $1.93 million for the 2012 season.

Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals have announced the signings FB Chris Pressley, DT Nick Hayden, HB Cedric Peerman, and LB Vincent Rey, per Geoff Hobson.

Raiders

The Oakland Raiders have tendered contracts to exclusive rights free agents FB Marcel Reece, DE Mason Brodine and CB Bryan McCann.
