Nick Foles Appears To Have Secured The Eagles Backup QB Spot

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Nick Foles is all but certain to have leapfrogged Mike Kafka as the Eagles backup quarterback.

Foles has been one of the most impressive players throughout the preseason. Both his teammates and coaches with both highlighting his overall game, accuracy, game management, as well as his poise under center. During three preseason games, Foles has managed to complete 36 of 57 passes for 507 yards, 6 TDs and 2 INTs with a 112 QB rating.

Mike Kafka, who started preseason as Philadelphia’s backup QB, appears to have lost his spot after going down in week 1 with a broken hand.
