Nick Foles Not Viewed As A Long-Term Solution For Eagles?

Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News writes that the Eagles decision restructure Michael Vicks contract “means nothing good for Nick Foles.”

Bowen adds that that Chip Kelly must see Vick as a better fit for their system seeing as they’re willing to pay him upwards of $10 million next season in the event that he’s able to beat out the competition in training camp.

Bowen also suggests that this could be an indication that Kelly doesn’t see a franchise quarterback in this year’s draft class.

Foles’ skill set is the complete opposite of Vick’s – slow moving pocket-passer versus mobile quarterback who makes plays with his feet, – but it’s fair to wonder whether or not he even has a future with the Eagles.

Andy Reid drafted him last year, but Reid is now in Kansas City and could use a quarterback of his own. It’s hard to say whether or not Reid would be willing to acquire Foles, but it’s at least a speculative option at this point in time.
