NFL Networks Michael Lombardi tweets that the bidding war for Asomugha has come down to the Jets and Cowboys. He adds that the 49ers have bowed out.
We’ve heard that the Raiders could also be an option but it doesn’t appear that they’re the favorites.
Pro Football Talk refutes some of the previous reports that indicated that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are pursuing CB Nnamdi Asomugha by citing a team source who basically told them that the Buc’s are not in on Nnamdi and haven’t been throughout free agency.
PFT notes that the market for Nnamdi likely includes the Jets, 49ers and possibly the Cowboys. Oh and maybe even the Raiders.
ESPN’s John Clayton tweets that the Jets, Buccaneers, 49ers and some others are all in on the bidding for Nnamdi Asomugha.
Now that the No. 2 cornerback is off of the market, the pressure for star free agent Nnamdi Asomugha is beginning to mount. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets are trying to get an answer from Asomugha.

Nnamdi is supposedly willing to take less money to join the Jets but he’s also really fond of the Bay area so the 49ers shouldn’t be written off just yet.
