No Charges Will Be Filed Against Jarvis Landry In Domestic Case

The Florida state attorney has decided not to file charges against Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry regarding the domestic violence investigation

“I am very thankful that this matter is over and my family and I can put this behind us now,” Landry said, via Adam Schefter. “I greatly respect and appreciate the Broward County State Attorney’s Office for their hard work and thorough investigation into this matter and I am thankful that they were able to come to a conclusion that reaffirms the true facts that no crime was committed. My daughter’s mother and I will continue to co-parent to raise our child in a happy and healthy environment. I would like to thank my family and friends for their continued support throughout this process.

Landry was under investigation for battery in connection with an alleged incident that took place in a Fort Lauderdale apartment earlier this year and involved his girlfriend.

However, Landry’s girlfriend, Estrella Cerqueira, later issued a statement explaining that there were no arrests made or criminal charges filed and she was not harmed in the matter.

Landry’s girlfriend has not been cooperating with authorities and Fort Lauderdale police department later forwarded it the case the Broward County State Attorney’s Office.

Landry, 24, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2014. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $3.5 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $893,852 for the 2017 season.
