No Verdict For Josh Gordon Appeal Hearing This Week

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that although many believed to have a ruling regarding Browns WR Josh Gordon‘s appeal hearing this week, no announcement is expected to be made.

  • According to Rapoport, “everyone waiting on hearing officer Harold Henderson.”

Once the hearing concluded, reports indicated that a ruling was expected to come in a “reasonable time,” but it looks like it’s going to take at least a few weeks before we know how many games Gordon will miss.

In the event that the league’s yer-long suspension stands, it would actually benefit Gordon to start serving it right now, as this would give him a shot at being back in time for at least part of the 2015 preseason.

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer previously reported that the Browns are bracing themselves for Gordon to receive “at least” an eight-game suspension.

Gordon and his attorney’s maintain that his positive test was triggered by second-hand smoke and point to the fact that he has passed 70 drug tests since 2012.

Last year, Gordon caught 87 receptions for 1,646 yards receiving and and nine touchdowns over the course of 14 games.

Well have more regarding Gordon as the news is available.
