Report: Cardinals & Browns Both Interested In UCF QB Blake Bortles

Peter King of MMQB.com is now reporting that the Cardinals and Browns both have more interest in UCF QB Blake Bortles than he initially thought.

Earlier this morning King posted his 2014 Mock Draft and mentioned that he couldn’t find a single team in love with UCF QB Blake Bortles while making calls around the league.

  • King gave Bortles to the Browns at No. 26 overall in his recently posted mock draft. He added that there’s still a chance that a team with interest in Bortles could be “hiding.”
  • King added that he’s “not buying” the Bortles-to-the-Vikings buzz.
  • Ian Rapoport concurs with King and adds that he “can’t find the team that has him in the [first round].

The Cardinals hold the No. 20 overall pick and have become a popular landing spot for quarterbacks in recent mock drafts.

It seems unlikely that the Browns would use the No. 4 overall pick on Bortles, but in the event they are able to trade back, they could consider him at a later point in round one.

We have the Vikings taking Bortles at No. 8 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
