Peter King of MMQB.com is now reporting that the Cardinals and Browns both have more interest in UCF QB Blake Bortles than he initially thought.
- King gave Bortles to the Browns at No. 26 overall in his recently posted mock draft. He added that there’s still a chance that a team with interest in Bortles could be “hiding.”
- King added that he’s “not buying” the Bortles-to-the-Vikings buzz.
- Ian Rapoport concurs with King and adds that he “can’t find the team that has him in the [first round].“
The Cardinals hold the No. 20 overall pick and have become a popular landing spot for quarterbacks in recent mock drafts.
It seems unlikely that the Browns would use the No. 4 overall pick on Bortles, but in the event they are able to trade back, they could consider him at a later point in round one.
We have the Vikings taking Bortles at No. 8 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
