Cardinals GM Steve Keim mentioned during an interview with Arizona Sports 98.7 on Monday that there’s “nothing on the horizon” with free agent RB Chris Johnson.

“We have discussed Chris Johnson for sure, and I’ve had some conversations with his agent, Joel Segal, but there’s nothing on the horizon to report as of right now,” Keim said.

Cardinals HC Bruce Arians expressed some frustration in recent days with the team’s current group of running backs and added that they planned on discussing their available options.

Johnson was, unfortunately, involved drive by shooting back in March that took the life of a close friend who was sitting next to him in a car.

Johnson, 29, ran for 663 yards on 155 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with 24 receptions for 151 yards receiving and two total touchdowns during the 2014 season. Pro Football Focus rated Johnson as the No. 46 running back out of 57 qualifying players.

We have him rated as the No. 21 player in our Top 25 Available Free Agents list.
