Odds Against Jim Caldwell Returning To Indianapolis

ESPN’s Adam Schefter writes that the odds are against Colts head coach Jim Caldwell returning next season.

No matter who [the new GM] is, it’s probably a long shot that Caldwell returns,” writes Schefter “Just hard to imagine it. Now it could happen, but it’s a long shot. And Tony Dungy is always there to help Colts owner Jim Irsay in the event that he needs help finding a new general manager. Irsay knows where to find him, but he’s not going to hire him right now. Dungy is too happy doing what he does.”

Indy has actively been pursuing Jeff Fisher but at this point they’re behind the Dolphins and Rams who have both been very aggressive thus far. Dungy has a lot of influence around the leauge and Irsay reaches out to him for some help.

Green Bay Packers director of college scouting John Dorsey declined to interview for the Colts GM job so it will be interesting to see who they end up with.
