Bears Re-sign G Matt Slauson To A Four-Year Contract

The Chicago Bears announced that they have re-signed G Matt Slauson to a four-year deal.

Slauson was a big part of a resurgent Bears offensive line that managed to reduce the number of sacks allowed from 41 in 2012, to 31 this season. The additions of Jermon Bushrod and rookie G Kyle Long also helped to shore up what was one of the worst offensive lines in the league.

Slauson, 27, graded out as the No. 6 guard in the league out of 81 qualifying players, according to Pro Football Focus. Slauson figures to be a linchpin in the offensive line moving forward.

Robert Garza will be an unrestricted free agent, so there is a chance that they could look for a younger replacement during the offseason.

We had Slauson listed as the No. 42 free agent in our Top 50 Free Agents List.
