Ohio State LB Ryan Shazier Unlikely To Get Past Dolphins At 19?

Packer Report, citing a source, reports that Ohio State LB Ryan Shazier will not get past the Miami Dolphins at pick No. 19.

Shazier would make sense for the Dolphins, who have been disappointed with the production of recent free agent linebackers Dannell Ellerbe and Philip Wheeler.

Shazier is a rangy player, who goes sideline-to-sideline very well.  He is slightly undersized, but is a tackling machine in the mold of Bucs LB Lavonte David.

It is unclear who the source is for Packer Report, but Shazier’s stock has been steadily climbing, so much so that teams in search of a linebacker picking later in round one-such as Green Bay-will likely have to move up to select the Buckeye product.

We have Shazier going No. 24 to Cincinnati in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
