Ohio State’s Ryan Shazier A Lock To Go In Round 1, Packers Could Be An Option?

Former Buccaneers GM Mark Dominik mentions that after watching Ohio State LB Ryan Shazier’s tape again, he now believes he should be drafted ahead of guys like UCLA’s Anthony Barr and Alabama’s C.J. Mosley.

Dominik mentions that Shazier is a “great tackler and playmaker” who possesses all the physical tools.

Meanwhile, Ian Rapoport has heard there is so much love for Shazier in recent days that he now considers him “a lock” to be drafted in round one.

An NFL GM tells Rapoport that Mosley “looks like a Packer.” However, Rapoport adds that Shazier remains an option for Green Bay as well.

The Packers are really in a position to take the best available player at No. 21 overall, but it would certainly make for an interesting decision if both Mosley and Shazier were still on the board at that point.

Mosley has some serious injury concerns and doesn’t possess the speed of Shazier. On top of that, Shazier could actually be the more versatile player moving forward, so this is something to watch.

We have the Packers taking Mosley at No. 21 in the first round of our recently updated 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
