Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly Could End Up Being A Day-Three Pick Next Year?

Jason Cole of B/R spoke with several personnel executives who believe that Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly could still be a late-round pick in next year’s draft, despite the fact that he suffered a torn ACL and lateral meniscus and has had off-the-field issues during his college career.

One source tells Cole that Kelly could be drafted as high as the fifth round. Cole adds that NFL evaluators like his approach to the game and how he’s performed against some top teams like Alabama.

Earlier in the day, Matt Miller of B/R mentioned that he has Kelly as an undrafted free agent in his rankings due to off-the-field issues and his knee injury, so there appears to be some conflicting views regarding Kelly’s chances of being drafted.

Kelly, 22, originally began his career at Clemson before later transferring to Ole Miss for the 2015 season. In total, Kelly threw for 6,858 yards while completing 63.8 percent of his passes to go along with 50 touchdowns and 22 interceptions over the course of 27 games.
