Options For Eagles CB Joselio Hanson

Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com writes that the Philadelphia will find plenty of interest in CB Joselio Hanson at this point in the preseason and lists some of teams with ties to Hanson.

It doesn’t hurt that four former Eagles defensive coaches are now head coaches — Ron Rivera in Carolina, John Harbaugh in Baltimore, Steve Spagnuola in St. Louis and Leslie Frazier in Minnesota,” Frank writes. “Frazier doesn’t have any direct connections to Hanson, but Spagnuola and Harbaugh were both Hanson’s position coach for at least one year, as was Rivera’s defensive coordinator, Sean McDermott.”

Peter King of Sports Illustrated mentioned that the Eagles could be looking to receive a third or fourth round pick in return for Hanson.

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer added that the Carolina Panthers could be the team to watch.

The hot rumor has Hanson being dealt to the Panthers to be reunited with [former Eagles defensive coordinator Sean] McDermott,” McLane writes.

At this point the Eagles have been stock piling future draft picks to the point where they could end up with two picks in each of the first four rounds and possibly three in the third round alone. What’s more amazing is that their roster is exactly devoid of talent as they have some of the games biggest names and play-makers.

The fact that they’re shopping Hanson is a pretty clear indication that they were unable to find a team willing to part with the kind of draft picks that they were looking for in order to trade Asante Samuel, making it even more likely that he’ll stick with the team for the remainder of 2011.
