Oregon QB Marcus Mariota Not Entering The Draft

Oregon QB Marcus Mariota announced on Tuesday that he will return to school in 2014, instead of entering the NFL Draft, via GoDucks.com.

  • Ducks’ C Hroniss Grasu also announced that he too is returning to Oregon next season.

Mariota, a redshirt sophomore, completed 227 of 360 passes (63.1%) for 3,412 yards and 30 touchdowns for the Ducks this season. Many expected Mariota to be one of best quarterback prospects in the 2014 NFL Draft, but this decision will likely have an impact on other quarterback’s draft stock.

“It is an honor to be a student at the University of Oregon and to have the opportunity to represent our institution on the football field alongside my teammates,” said Mariota. “I look forward to earning my degree next year and to the rest of my career at this great University.”

We had him listed as the No. 5 prospect in our 2014 Big Board.
