Packer Sign LB Korey Jones, Waive LB Shaun Lewis

The Green Bay Packers are signing LB Korey Jones to a contract, according to his agent Andy Tuitele.

  • Green Bay also waived LB Shaun Lewis to make room for Jones on the team’s 90-man roster.

Jones, 25, signed on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Wyoming back in 2013.

During his two years at Wyoming, Jones recorded 162 tackles, nine tackles for a loss, four passes defensed and a forced fumble.

Linebacker happens to be a very deep position for the Packers with plenty of talent at both inside and outline linebacker, so Jones could be competing for a spot on the team’s practice squad.

Lewis, 22, participated in the Packers’ rookie orientation camp back in May and was later signed to a contract in June.

He was highly productive player Oklahoma State. During his four years in college, Lewis totaled 250 tackles, 33 tackles for a loss, four sacks, seven forced fumbles, eight interceptions and scored two defensive touchdowns.
