Packers Agree To Deal With Fifth-Round Pick WR Jared Abbrederis

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Green Bay Packers have reached a four-year, $2.364 million deal with fifth-round pick WR Jared Abbrederis.

  • Wilson adds that the terms include a signing bonus of $144,560.

Abbrederis was highly productive at the University of Wisconsin where he caught 78 balls for 1,081 yards in his senior season, while also handling some of the punt return duties.

His production is even more impressive when considering that he walked on to the team as a freshman.

Like most late round picks, Abbrederis will be expected to contribute primarily on special teams early. With a solid crop of wide receivers, Green Bay will have the luxury of easing him into his role in the offense.
