Packers CB Makinton Dorleant Suffered ACL Tear Last Week

Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Packers CB Makinton Dorleant suffered a torn ACL during Sunday night’s win over the Lions and will be undergoing surgery at some point in the near future.

This is terrible news for a young player the Packers had high hopes for. Dorleant is looking at a nine-month recovery, so it’s possible he could open the 2017 season the PUP list.

Ian Rapoport reports that the Packers elected to activate Dorleant from injured reserve after it became clear that RB Eddie Lacy wasn’t going to be able to return from injured reserve following ankle surgery.

Dorleant, 24, signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa. He wound up making the team’s 53-man roster but landed on the injured reserve after sustaining a hamstring injury during the preseason.

The Packers activated Dorleant from their injured reserve last month.

In 2016, Dorleant appeared in four games for the Packers and recorded one tackle and no interceptions.
