Packers Place C J.C. Tretter On Short-Term I.R.

Update:

Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports that the Packers have in fact placed C J.C. Tretter on injured reserve with the designation to return.

This will keep Tretter out for the first half of the season while he continues to rehab his leg injury.

The agent for Packers C J.C. Tretter, Alan Herman, mentioned that based on his client’s timeline to return from a leg injury, it would make sense for Green Bay to place him on injured reserve with the designation to return.

“The timeline is such that it would make sense to designate him for return,” Herman said, per Rob Demovsky.

Tretter put together a strong training camp and was expected to be the team’s starting center before he suffered the injury a few weeks ago.

Now the Packers are ready to move forward with fifth-round pick Corey Linsley to start the season.

We’ll have more regarding Tretter possibly ending on injured reserve as the news is available.
