Packers Get K Mason Crosby To Take A Pay Cut

Brian McIntyre of Yahoo Sports reports that the Green Bay Packers restructured K Mason Crosby’s contract.

Crosby, 28, was set to make a base salary of $2.4 million for the upcoming season, but Packers were able to renegotiate that figure down to an $800,000 base salary, according to McIntyre.

Crosby’s new salary is fully guaranteed if he’s still on the roster to start the season and could make up the difference of $1.6 million through roster bonuses and performance incentives.

The Packers recently released Giovanna Tavecchio and Zach Ramirez, which effectively leaves Crosby entrenched as their place kicker. He’s coming off of a horrible season, so it’s really not all that surprising to see Green Bay reduce his salary and in some incentives.
