Packers Haven’t Closed The Door On Re-Signing Jermichael Finley, Ryan Pickett & Johnny Jolly

Packers HC Mike McCarthy mentioned during an appearance on “The Bill Michaels Show” that they have yet to close the door on signing free agents TE Jermichael Finley, NT Ryan Pickett and DT Johnny Jolly.

“No doors are closed yet, and we’ll see what happens,” McCarthy said during the interview. “It’s always something that I think you have to be realistic about in the National Football League. I would love to work with all three of those guys again.”

Finley has received medical clearance from at least one doctor following his spinal fusion surgery several months ago, but even though he has visited with some teams, there hasn’t been a lot of buzz regarding him in recent days.

The Patriots, Seahawks, Giants, Steelers and Raiders have all come up at different times as being potential options, but Seattle has reportedly removed themselves from the running.

Jolly and Pickett haven’t found any reported interest this offseason, so it will be interesting to see if Green Bay brings them in at some point given their familiarity with the team’s defensive scheme.

Pickett, 34, was one of the only free agent acquisitions from Packers GM Ted Thompson during his tenure in Green Bay. Last year, Pickett appeared in all 16 games for Green Bay and totaled 21 tackles. Pro Football Focus had Pickett rated as the No. 53 defensive tackle in the league last season.

We have Finley and Pickett both listed in our Top 50 – Best Available Free Agents list.
