Packers HC Mike McCarthy Wants Team To Re-sign DT Letroy Guion

Packers HC Mike McCarthy has not wavered in his support of free agent DT Letroy Guion.

During the NFL meetings Wednesday, McCarthy said “to a man, everybody would like to see Letroy be a Green Bay Packer“, via ESPN Wisconsin.

Guion, 27, was arrested on February 3rd in possession of marijuana and an unloaded hand gun.  While the case was settled without a conviction, Guion can still be suspended under the league’s personal conduct policy.

The team discussed a long-term deal with Guion before his legal troubles surfaced, and it appears that the team maintains a level of interest.

Guion signed a one-year, $1 million last March, which proved to be a great move not just because of his low salary, but because they lost veteran DT B.J. Raji for the season with a bicep tear.

In 2014, Guion recorded 32 tackles, 3.5 sacks and has been a solid run-defender in the middle the Packers’ defense.
