Packers Hosting Veteran RB C.J. Spiller For Visit

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Packers are bringing in veteran RBĀ C.J. Spiller for a visit on Tuesday.

This is the first visit for Spiller since he became available last week.

The Packers are expected to re-sign RB Jhurell Pressley this week after they recently waived him. However, it appears as thoguh the Packers prefer to at least kick the tires on Spiller to see how he looks.

Spiller, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in in 2010. He spent five years in Buffalo before signing a four-year, $16 million contract that included $9 million guaranteed with the Saints.

Spiller was set to make a base salary of $1.7 million for the 2016 season when the Saints cut him loose last Tuesday.

In 2015, Spiller appeared in 13 games for the Saints and ran for 112 yards on 36 carries (3.1 YPC) to go along with 34 receptions for 239 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
