Packers Interviewed Jaguars Asst. Mike Mallory For Special Teams Job

Tom Silverstein of PackersNews.com reports that the Packers recently interviewed Jaguars assistant special teams coach Mike Mallory for a special teams job. According to Silverstein, it’s likely Mallory interviewed for their coordinator vacancy.

Silverstein says that the Packers have had discussions with two other candidates for special teams positions.

Green Bay interviewed Dolphins special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi for the job, but they’re not expected to hire him.

Mallory, 56, began his coaching career at Indiana back in 1986. He worked for a number of schools including Kent State, Eastern Illinois, Rhode Island, Northern Illinois, Maryland, Illinois, Kansas and Louisville before taking his first NFL job with the Saints in 2008.

The Jaguars later hired Mallory as their special teams coordinator for the 2013 season, but he was later demoted to assistant special teams coordinator in 2017.
